Eddie Van Halen Wins Best Guitarist Of All-Time In Guitar World Poll…And Rightfully So!

Eddie Van Halen has been named the greatest guitarist of all time in a new poll conducted by Guitar World magazine.

After half a million votes, Eddie came out on top. This is the first time that Guitar World has sponsored or commissioned such a project/survey. The polling began back in April and presented 132 guitarists. It all came down to two people in the end, Brian May and Eddie Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen eventually won with a landslide win of 62% of the votes.

Brian May was surprising to most since May eventually always finds himself underrated and short when it comes time for voting on the world’s best guitarists but this time around, he almost came in first. May beat out greats like Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page & Randy Rhoads to claim the #2 spot.

The final voting count was mustered up and finalized at 27,000 votes.
