Lili Haydn Releases New Single, Announces Upcoming Performances
Dubbed “fiery and virtuosic” by Rolling Stone and “the Jimi Hendrix of the violin” by none other than George Clinton, the accomplished and revered Lili Haydn is gearing up for her fourth studio album, I am a Man, due for release early 2013.
Already gaining the respect of industry heavy hitters & tastemakers including Linda Perry, and George Clinton, I Am a Man is guaranteed to not disappoint with it’s quirky pop hooks, raw grooves and honest incisive lyrics. “Tyrant”, the first single from the upcoming album highlights Lili’s soulful and melodic talent, in addition to her passion for social justice and is now available for free download HERE.
Both as a solo artist and in her legendary collaborations (Roger Waters, Herbie Hancock, Page and Plant), Lili has toured the world and her records have been celebrated by NPR, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and audiences worldwide. In addition, she is the featured voice and violin on several films with Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean 3 & 4), among many others. Lili is also a film composer in her own right, with six feature films to her scoring credit, additional Music credits on several films, and a Film Composing Fellowship to the prestigious Sundance Film Institute. Her film credits include Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, (2011), Somewhere Between (2012), and the award winning film The Horse Boy (2009), among others. She is currently working on a feature called The Sublime and Beautiful, starring and directed by Blake Robbins.
A humanitarian and activist, Lili also performs regularly for various human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, the Global Security Institute (for whom she recently performed a concert at the UN). Above all, Lili believes that music has the power to uplift and heal, and she’s very excited to share her new music with the world. Upcoming performances including the Venice Beach Music Festival on September 8, 2012, Los Angeles Lobster Festival on September 15, 2012, and as a featured guest at the Hollywood Bowl with Christina Perri, opening for Jason Mraz on October 5, 2012.
